Domoney Woodworks roots stem from 1962 when founder Bertie Domoney started his business by making poultry houses and wooden structures for the South Wiltshire area. Since that time the joinery department has expanded and now the majority of the products manufactured are windows, doors and stairs. However we do not limit ourselves to these lines though, generally if it is made of wood and you can sketch it, we can make it.
The purpose built workshop houses modern woodworking machinery including spindle moulders, panel saws, dim saws, four sider planers, speed sanders and more. The equipment used ensures accurate machining before the sections are handcrafted and assembled. As all our joinery items are bespoke and not mass produced, this enables the joiner to take care and oversee each individual job.
We now offer the facility to prime and glaze any joinery items that are manufactured in our workshop. With fully qualified joiners, many who have joined us as school leavers and done their training through a combination of college and hands on workshop experience, our workshop employees have over 75 years of experience between them.
Joinery can be produced in a variety of timbers which include: Joinery quality softwoods, Tulipwood, European Oak, Sapele. Iroko, Keruing and more. All timbers are sourced from legal and sustainable well managed forests and mills. We only buy from importers who can validate where the timber has come from.
Other services offered include machining of skirtings and architraves to match existing patterns, pre hanging of doors into frames, alterations to existing items and much more.
As manufacturers of high quality joinery we are currently unable to offer an installation service, but we are able to recommend local tradesmen who would be more than willing to quote for this.
Whatever your joinery needs, please drop Alistair Domoney an email with your requirements to ally@domwood.demon.co.uk with any drawings that you may have, and we will be pleased to give you a free, no obligation quote.
